WordPress Plug-In Troubleshooting

Trouble uploading images to the Media Library in WordPress 4.5.1, or unable to edit posts?

I upgraded to 4.5.1.

WordPress is a great tool for creating websites. In fact, this very website is created in WordPress. I have used Adobe Dreamweaver, Visual Studio, HTML code and even the awful Adobe GoLive program to create websites. WordPress is the best, and easiest, to use.

I tried to upload images to the Media Library, but it did not show the assets. I could not add media in a post, nor could I edit the URL or switch to “text” edit.

Turn it off

I read many blogs and forums to see what other people had done. I found quite a lot of information on older versions, such as 3.9, but nothing on this particular problem. Several of them did suggest turning off all the plug-ins and turning them back on again. It reminded me of that famous line from The IT Crowd: “Have you tried turning it off and back on again?” It seems like Roy and Moss were right!

I deactivated all of my plugins, then turned them on one-by-one and tested the Media Library.

BACKUP AND MOVE PLUGIN was the culprit.

If you experience problems with the Media Library or editing your post and pages, this may work. I hope this helps some frustrated users out there!

Plug it in, plug it in
