This is a collection of 52 official state web portals (including Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia). It’s interesting to see what each state thinks is the most important to present to visitors of their sites.
Are they trying to appeal to out-of-state people, government employees, residents, or maybe they don’t even know? Some sites look very nice and some look very bad.
Some use a big background picture, like Alabama and Utah, some use a collection of tiles packed with information, such as Connecticut, Hawaii and Nebraska.
And some are just painfully awful, like Florida, Louisiana and New Hampshire. In my opinion, the best looking websites are Maine and Utah.
What do you think? Is your state representing itself in the best way possible?
Or, do you live in Florida?
